Thanks to the combination of VISIONexpert® and an EPSON 4-axis robot, we are able to offer our customers a combination that perfectly meets their high-precision requirements. The vision system detects the exact position of the placement and transmits it to the robot. The vision system is also used to capture the ruby.
Task
Depending on their type, high-end watch movements includes much more than 1,000 parts, of which many are rotating parts. They have to be mounted in quality bearings since the parts serve the transformation of energy. To reduce the coefficient of friction, i.e. to increase the accuracy of the watch movement, synthetic jewel bearings are used for expensive timepieces; they must be pressed into the watch movement in a precise manner. SCARA robots by EPSON are ideally suited for such tasks. The optical support allows you to achieve insertion accuracies within the single-digit micrometre range. It is exactly such tasks that we implement for well-known watch manufacturers.
Customer Benefit
- Sound insertion position guaranteed for high-precision watch movements
- Fewer jewel fissures during the process of pressing in
- No processing of non-qualified watch calibres
Goods and Services Provided by Compar AG
Thanks to marrying up VISIONexpert® with a 4-axis SCARA robot, we were able to offer our customers a pairing that meets their high precision requirements. The eye is the vision system, which measures exactly the insertion position and hands it over to the robot. The vision system also tackles the picking of the rubies.
