Compar's Optical print inspection reduces manufacturing costs and ensures defect-free end-user products
Compar's print inspection adapts to the quality requirements of the test items. Area scan cameras are suitable for inspection at discrete positions, while line scan cameras may be required for inspection of cylindrical parts or continuous foils. The main task is image processing, which is performed by comparing the camera image with a predefined template. The target template can be generated from known good patterns that can be learned and, if necessary, stored with additional criteria such as pattern deformation tolerances. Print image templates can also be created from CAD files that specify the target shapes without any learning effort. Compar AG has an extensive collection of smart print inspection algorithms summarised as a print inspection module which is a main component of the integrated image processing software VISIONexpert®. Based on the customer's requirements, the appropriate algorithms for the solution are determined, tested and finally implemented.
Impeccable print quality
Robust test algorithms. Detection of small defects from a diameter of only 3 pixels.
Ease of use
Fast and simple production-accompanying training routines for new products. Short changeover times between different products.
Degrees of freedom and flexibility
Print inspection using "golden sample", predefined geometries or CAD drawings applied to flat and curved parts or to continuously printed material.
