The origin of all presence detection is the precise recognition and capture of patterns, objects or other features.
In the vast majority of cases, it is the first step in optical image processing and serves as a robust repositioning tool for many machine vision tasks.

Optical presence, completeness and position control with image processing is used for robust recognition and detection of patterns and objects. Common applications are non-contact presence checks, alignment aids, coordinate determination, part localisation and tracking supports.

Thanks to a wide variety of matching algorithms, the recognition of objects is very flexible and can be used for a very wide range of applications. Some areas of application could be the localisation of parts in 3D space or for handling systems. The recognition is based on taught-in patterns or on digital CAD templates. Thanks to that, it is almost never necessary to make adjustments for a new part type. Compar AG has numerous libraries for 2D / 3D presence detection, as a module of the integrated image processing software VISIONexpert®. Based on the customer's requirements, the appropriate algorithms for the solution are determined, tested and finally implemented.
